LS swap has quickly gone from stock LS1 with cam to this going to be angry. New springs lifters and probably going to port the heads while they are off.
I didnt like having money in my racecar fund anyway.
Not my car.

I didn’t realize the LS1 heads had that much meat to take out, but looking at some before and after photos I’m surprised.

yea not a ton but still enough to make a difference. My engine builder said were taking heads off anyway so might as well port them... and i said well its just money

Might as well. I really wish I would have bored my engine instead of just breaking the glaze on the cylinders. Get the work done while it’s apart. You’ll feel better with the extra power.

yea extra power in a very light car. im glad its going to be done right. Long block is going to be untouched. Pistons and rods are marked to we figured someone has been in the engine before i bought it. so keeping all that the same

Smart man. Which Cnc shop did you go with? My T.e.a 2.5's got my up to 450/400 dynojet sae with fast 102 and eps 226 cam. Good times

You can take a ls1,2,6 up to 323+ cfm at .600 lift with stock valve seats no problem. I ran very light cut down ls3 valves in mine for revvability.

Ultradyne. 237/245 @ .050 .625 lift. 112lsa installed at 108. So 112+4
And im porting the heads myself. Im hoping for 400+whp on mustang dyno

You’re not playing around! How are you looking for piston to valve clearance? Whack the heads .030 is worth an easy 15hp.

Not sure. Letting the engine builder worry about that. Probably keeping heads same just making intake and exhaust bigger sizes when i port them

My 243's ended up at 60cc and 11.3:1. No problem with knock.

ah ok well ill talk to my engine guy. Im trying to keep it cheap as possible. He just didnt like the cam that was already in it and stock valvetrain.
